Caulking Compound
Safecoat® Caulking Compound is a non-toxic, water-based, elastic emulsion-type caulking compound designed to replace oil caulk and putty for windows, cracks, and general maintenance work. Safecoat Caulking Compound is a white, non-toxic, water-based, elastic emulsion-type caulking compound. It will not dry out, sag, or crack, and does not release any solvents or noxious odors. In addition, it creates a unique seal that blocks offgassing from the substrate. Provides excellent initial and permanent adhesion. Dries quickly. It may be applied to a variety of substrates, has high durability and is paintable. Resin rich formula affords maximum bond strength. Safecoat Caulking Compound is a water-based modified acrylic copolymer containing Propylene Glycol, Titanium Dioxide, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Muscovite Mica, and Propylene Glycol. Low VOCs. Contains no formaldehyde. Uses: Designed to replace oil-based caulk. Use for caulking windows, sealing cracks, filling holes, door perimeters, walls and woodwork, air duct openings, venting and plumbing areas, siding openings and masonry cracks. Size: 10.5 oz. tube. Coverage: A 6.4mm x 6.4mm (1/4" x 1/4") width/depth cross section can be filled at a rate of approximately 30 lineal feet per tube. Application: All substrates to receive caulk and overlays must be sound, intact and cleaned of any grease, oils, dust, dirt, wax, unsound prior caulk and other foreign materials. Surface must be completely dry and stable prior to application. Use knife or spatula to smooth and level the sealant surface. After thorough drying out and total cure, caulked surface may be lightly sanded to smoothness desired, or to even with adjacent areas.
