Marine Boss Transparent Sealer

Marine Boss Transparent Sealer

Marine Boss is a natural finish that counteracts the deterioration process of wood, fiberglass, and metal in a marine environment. It provides protection and waterproofing for the mahogany and teak used on many high end boats, as well as outdoor fabrics, including sailcloth.

Marine Boss restores luster to faded fiberglass, while polishing and protecting most metal surfaces. When applied to teak and other similar hardwoods, a flat or gloss finish may be attained.

It does not just adhere to the wood, but actually penetrates and creates a monolithic bond, in a process called “molecular compatibility.” After Marine Boss dries, it is nearly impossible to release this bond. It does not emit high levels of toxic fumes in comparison to coatings containing flammable or harsh solvents. It also does not leave an oily or waxed surface film which attracts dirt that can be tracked onto other surfaces.

Marine Boss also creates long-term dimensional stabilization and reduces damage due to climatic conditions. Marine Boss contains sunscreens, trans-oxides and stabilizers that provide U.V. protection.

Tints: Marine Boss is available in 4 transparent formulas: clear, brown tint, golden tint, and reddish tint. The brown formula is especially elegant on red cedar. The golden tint is commonly used on lighter toned woods such as pine, oak, and light cedar.

Recommended Uses: Wood, fiberglass and metal in a marine environment: boats, decks, sails and outdoor fabrics, etc.

Average coverage:

Wood: Only one coat is required, with average coverage ranging from 50 to 200 square feet per gallon per application. Hardwoods such as teak and mahogany will use less per application and require multiple applications to obtain level of protection or color desired. We recommend a minimum of three applications.
  • Fiberglass: Average coverage is 100-300 sq. ft. per gallon per application. Proper preparation is vital due to the varying porosity of fiberglass structures. Apply multiple light coats until desired finish is acquired.
  • Metal: Average coverage is 150-400 sq. ft. per gallon per application. Apply multiple light applications until desired finish is acquired.
