IceStone Countertops

IceStone durable surfaces are a terrazzo product made from recycled glass chips set in concrete. Manufactured in Brooklyn, New York, they are the ideal choice for green kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. They're also a great option for backsplashes, bathroom dividers, tabletops, interior walls, and commercial flooring applications. Beautiful shower surrounds and bathtubs could be made with IceStone durable surface material. It can be shaped, cut water jet, inlaid, mounted vertically or horizontally. IceStone is strong like granite, not as porous as marble, and heat-resistant like stone. The chemical composition is benign and 99.5% inorganic, making it a very safe material from the standpoint of toxicity and fire resistance. Third party testing results are available upon request. The fabrication, installation and maintenance of IceStone surfaces follow essentially the same process as used with natural stone. Minimum of 75% recycled glass; diverts material from landfill VOC-free, inert concrete matrix Cradle to Cradle certification¹ NSF certified for food safety Locally manufactured in Brooklyn, NY Color and size: There are 27 standard colors offered by IceStone.² Designers should note that the customizable color palette is almost infinite: you can select from a variety of sizes and colors of glass chips, and you can choose which pigment to add to the background concrete mix--for a completely customized blend! Customers love the consistency and flexibility of IceStone surface material as they can put it on a floor, wrap it up a wall and then place it on the countertop. Standard slabs measure 52.5" x 8' x 1-1/4" thick, and weigh approximately 15 lbs per square foot. A 2"-thick product is also available. Slabs can be cut into large-format tiles. Pricing: IceStone is a signature product that is comparable in price to a top-of-the-line granite. Pricing generally ranges from $100-$150/square foot, depending on the color you choose, and on fabrication costs in your geographic area.
